Justin Spede Book Five Released!

An Unexpected Villain has just been released to Kindle and Kindle Unlimited. This is the last book in the “Unexpected” story arc. Justin and his friends may return in future books.

Here is the blurb for An Unexpected Villain:

As Justin’s first year at the Wonn Imperial Academy winds down, he thinks he can coast for the last few months and begin early preparation for a busy summer. Life doesn’t want to let Justin Spede slide by. Farah’s family expels her, Zach breaks up with his girlfriend, and there is trouble at his glass operation. Roseguard’s steward quits, and Justin needs a new secretary more than ever, but a sinister villain is creating havoc behind the scenes.

This is the first illustration on one of my covers using AI. I wanted the villain dressed a little weird and the AI accommodated my desire. Look at the knot on the tie! The face is supposed to be blurry, although in the book the blur would be more pronounced. Artistic license, I suppose.

Next Series:

I’ll be starting on a new series about a young teenager who is impressed into the magical corps in an army similar to what the British did to put sailors on their naval ships in the Napoleonic Wars.

Book Three in Justin Spede Series Just Released

“An Unexpected Alliance” is now available on Amazon in e-book, trade paperback, and hardcover. Link to Amazon page. If you can’t tell what is on the cover, it is Justin’s “death ray” applied to a circle of thick glass. More inventions, more mayhem.

Here is the blurb:

Justin turns his focus onto Roseguard, Condor Consulting, and returning to school. A lingering antagonism at the Telsian Imperial Academy is eveident when the team returns to Telsia. As Justin begins to get a handle on his new situation, circumstances give him new opportunities, new disappointments, and will put his team back in peril, knocking a smooth second term off kilter.

An Unexpected Spell

Book Two in the Justin Spede Novels series

An Unexpected Spell was released yesterday to hungry fans worldwide. Here is the blurb:

Justin’s role as the leader of an emerging secret society begins to crumble. It doesn’t take long to figure out that forces are acting to choke the group he has just started before it has really begun. Justin has to balance this impending debacle with the rest of his life as he gets an unexpected messages from beyond the grave (figuratively, not literally.) As Justin makes an amazing discovery, people start going missing, and a powerful nemesis appears who theatens to break apart all his friendships and destroy his life.

This was a fun book to write, as they usually are. This series has more of a political thriller feel to it than my others. You can get it on Amazon.

An Unexpected Magician Released

Finally, I’ve finished the first book in my latest series. The series name is “The Justin Spede Novels” and the title of the first novel is “An Unexpected Magician. Here is the blurb:

In an empire where magic has lost its savor, Justin Spede is reviled by his family and tolerated by his father. There is no magic in the family, which means Justin has no power. His life becomes worse when his family dies in an accident and he is passed among family members who don’t want him.

An uncle and aunt from a distant town are called to take him away, and so begins the young teenager’s journey. As he recovers from his traumatic upbringing, Justin learns he has magic, and a host of mysteries confront him as he is pulled into a world of guns and power and forces he barely understands.

And the cover:

I generally don’t have a world where gunpowder exists, but this time I thought it added to the decline of magic in the world. Magic is an inherited trait and the world is losing the magic gene. I’ve also added some political thriller elements to this series. I hope you like it.

New Series in Process

I have started writing my next series. This one will have a younger protagonist set in a world where magic is dying out as the world modernizes.

Currently, his name is Justin Spede. He lives in an empire where oligarchs rule alongside the emperor and with the help of his ex-army uncle and his friends, will fight against the powerful interests.

I can’t tell you more since I’m writing as I am figuring out Justin’s world. There will be more to come.
