At Long Last, The Wizard Charter Is Released!

Lots of things have happened to clutter my progress on the third book of the Strings of Empire series, but I finally emerged from hibernation with The Wizard Charter now on Amazon. The link is here.

The blurb:

Quint plunges into Kippun, a country of warlord fiefs. Quint has experienced chaos before, but Kippun nearly defines it. Quint risks all as he tries to gain the confidence of a warlord to gain more experience to carry out his ultimate mission by uniting the wizards in the warlord’s fief. But Quint helps foment a war, instead.

The cover:

The blurb tells most of what The Wizard Charter is all about. Quint enters Shimato fief in the ‘country’ of Kippun. He is trying to gain experience to help him with his mission and that experience is likely to take years. Kippun is a collection of fiefs ruled by warlords and Quint has to navigate through all the craziness that entails. There are battles and betrayals galore. In Quint’s last year as a teenager, he will have to toughen up.

I portrayed Kippun, Slinnon, and Pokogon as polennese-influenced countries. Polennese culture is borrowed from Asians, consider it benign cultural appropriation. That means there will be phony Japanese-ish names. I hope I didn’t make up a name that means something unpleasant in Japanese.

Enjoy reading The Wizard Charter.

The Cloister Wizard

I just released my second book in the Strings of Empire series. The Cloister Wizard is up on Amazon as an ebook and the paperback and hard copy versions will be released later this week. Here is the amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DKJWXL5N/

Here is the blurb:

Quint Tirolo must escape from capture after fleeing his homeland and ends up in a cloister of wizards in a new country. The sanctuary isn’t all it seems. He has attracted new enemies that are anxious to kill or control him, and kill seems to be their major objective. Quint must use what protection he can muster and what allies he can find to survive in a new land and stay alive.

And the cover:

Quint’s adventures continue in a different setting under much different circumstances. He learns more about his possible future and finds that people can find other ways to dislike each other than what he experienced in his home country.

The Wizard Corps

New Series, New Book. The Wizard Corps, the first book in the Strings of Empire series has just been published and will soon be up on Amazon. Here is the blurb:

Wizards are rare in Racellia. Most are drafted into the country’s armed forces. Quint Tirolo is pressed into service through a betrayal of two acquaintances when he is fifteen, and he finds that his heritage puts him into peril as soon as he enters training. The troubles continue, even as Quint’s magical powers begin to grow with new knowledge. The Wizard Corps is the story of Quint dealing with excruciating bias and his efforts to make a life among a people who see him as an enemy. Luckily, he finds people he can work with despite their feelings, but will it be enough to enable Quint to survive?

I used AI to make the cover and come up with the image of Quint. It can remind you how young he is during the adventures in this first installment. Quint’s world will grow as the series evolves and Quint gains arcane and secular knowledge. Here is the cover:
